What is a Webhook?

Discord webhooks provide an easy way to get automated messages into a Discord channel. Simply put, an external source of information (like NotifyMe) can use Discord webhooks to communicate its information into a Discord channel. The cool thing about it is that you can customize both the username and avatar of the "webhook bot".

Here's an example of what a webhook message looks like:
